Tapping

Absentmindedly, I drum my fingers.
sitting where no one will bother me.

looking past my translucent face and brown eyes staring back at me.
looking past the water soaked streets and the soggy brown grass.
looking at all the random little happenings that happened today.

humming as my chest reverberates with the sound of a nameless song.

listening as the house groans, creeks and shutters with me inside its belly.
listening as the rain taps on the window like a child would a glass tank of a fish.
listening as the rain whispers, "Come out and play with me!"
Whispering back to the rain I say, "What would a grown man look like playing in the rain?”
To which that silly rain replies, "Happy!"
There's some one
tap, tap, tapping at you're window...

interesting poem. Speaks volumes about the restrainedness (not a word i know) of the adult mind. Why not play in the rain? who says only kids can do it? right? :3 never grow up more than you have to, and we all have to grow old, so you might as well be happy with what you're doing.
